renovation information
New Life Church in Wilsonville is raising funds for a building remodel. In 1977, Faith Baptist Church purchased property on Boeckman Road and prayed that God would provide a building for their congregation. Shortly thereafter, a group of volunteers called Craftsmen for Christ built the sanctuary building—an example of God providing for His church. Classroom buildings and fellowship space were added in the early 1980s to meet the growing needs of the congregation, and they served the church well for many years.
In 2009, New Life Church began planting a church with the vision of creating a place where the hope of Jesus is made known and the community of Wilsonville is blessed. Over the years, church members have launched various community-focused ministries. Wilsonville Swap and Play served mothers of young children by providing a space to network, let their children play, and exchange baby clothes and gear. Sports Camp offered a free summer program for kids to learn sports, have fun, and hear about the love of Jesus. Foster Parents’ Night Out has provided a safe and fun environment for foster children while giving foster parents an evening of rest.
Desiring to be generous and maximize resources, New Life Church has hosted schools, homeschool co-ops, art groups, music recitals, HOA meetings, counseling sessions, Spanish conversation groups, as well as English-, Hispanic-, and Korean-speaking congregations without buildings of their own.
In 2009, Victory Academy—a school designed for children on the autism spectrum—began operations on the property and remained there until 2015, when they outgrew the available space and moved to a property of their own just west of Wilsonville. Most recently, Clackamas County Children’s Commission began using several classrooms for their Head Start preschool program, continuing to serve families in need throughout Clackamas County.
Today, these well-used church buildings are in need of a remodel. Wilsonville is no longer a sleepy farm community, nor merely a quick stop on I-5 as it was when the church was first built. It has become a rapidly growing suburb—and these buildings need to grow and adapt as well. With rusty water pipes, an aging roof, and volunteer-built facilities showing decades of wear, the time has come to refresh the campus. It’s time to make functional spaces more comfortable, update the exterior to better reflect the surrounding community, and reconfigure rooms to better serve the groups that gather here.
Would you help us achieve these goals?
Some of the planned projects include:
Replacing rusty water pipes throughout the campus
Relocating the kitchen from the sanctuary building to the fellowship hall
Re-roofing Buildings 1 and 2
Building an atrium with new entrances between Buildings 1 and 2 to improve campus flow
Constructing a sound booth in the sanctuary
Remodeling restrooms in Buildings 1 and 2
Re-siding Buildings 1 and 2
Updating the interior of the sanctuary to improve both appearance and acoustics
Tickets include dinner and entertainment.
