New Life Church worships at our Robinwood location because of God’s providential and redeeming work. The building itself illustrates the redemptive mission of New Life Church.

In 1958, West Linn Baptist Church (now New Life Church) had a very unpleasant split. According to some who were there, the pastor stood up at a business meeting and announced he was fed up and was going to start another church. The next Sunday a bus showed up at the front of the building to take people to this new church!

That group eventually organized and, in 1961, built their first building. Thirteen years later they built the second building as an up-to-date worship center. Over the years the strength of the church declined and they eventually closed in 1988. The building was rented for a few years until it was purchased by West Linn Christian Fellowship. From them we bought the buildings in 2004.

We rejoice at the opportunity God has given us to redeem such a dark episode in our church’s history. Truly we serve a God who gives New Life.
