New Life Church began as West Linn Baptist Church on June 15, 1941 at West Linn City Hall. They met there for six years. On July 13, 1947, they dedicated their new building across from West Linn High School where it remains today. When we started our Robinwood location we added the "Riverfalls" designation to this campus. The building itself has an interesting history. It had been an Army chapel serving the base at Camp Adair near Corvallis. The church bought it for $900. They had it disassembled, barged down the river and rebuilt on its current site at 1984 McKillican Street for another $18,000. The building has been added to three different times and has been remodeled several times. From the outside it is difficult now to imagine what it looked like then, but sitting inside the sanctuary you can still picture the earlier, simpler days of this converted chapel. Go north on Hwy 43 for approximately .25 miles (toward Lake Oswego). Turn left at the first traffic signal (McKillican Street). Drive to the top of McKillican Street. The church is located on your left at the corner of West A Street and McKillican, across the street from West Linn High School.
