Why do Life Groups exist? Life Groups exist to create and mature Christian disciples by providing intentional places of thick, Christian community. Recognizing that fellowship with God demands fellowship with and within the church, the primary purpose of Life Groups is to experience the presence and power of Jesus Christ. What are Life Groups? Life Groups are localized and practical expressions of the one, new human community God is calling into existence through the Gospel of His Son, Jesus Christ. Life Groups are “house churches,” basic Christian communities – gospel-shaped and Christ-centered. They consist of 6-16 individuals, meeting at least bi-monthly, led by a trained and approved lay-shepherd (or Life Group Leader) from among the membership of New Life Church. Under the oversight of New Life’s elders, they serve as the primary place for pastoral care at New Life Church. While some churches have small groups, New Life is a church of small groups. How do I get involved? If you would like to be a part of a Life Group check out the Schedule page or contact Dale Austen (503-631-72060) for a Robinwood group, Bill Kramer (503-650-6899) for a men’s group or Aaron Orendorff (503-261-2988) for any other group or general questions. |
