From
Stephanie Rogers:
Tuesday, August 10th:
I made it home alive on this past Saturday and am
transitioning back into my life in Oregon. I wanted to take
this time to say once again, THANK YOU!
Getting e-mails and cards from you always brought a smile to
my face and were a constant encouragement. Knowing that
people from all over were praying for me and thinking of me
was awesome. Seriously, this trip would not have happened
with out cool people like you! If you would please continue
to pray for me I would love it! I am still processing
through how Detroit and what I saw and experienced is going
to change the way I live and think. Please pray that my life
indeed would change, and that for the better.
Also pray for opportunities for me to share with those
around me about what God is doing and even challenge people
to think differently about the world they live in.
If any of you want a really good read and get a small idea
about the inner city, check out "Amazing Grace" by Jonathan
Kozol. Potentially life changing. It has been for me.
I will be sending out a post-trip letter within the next
couple of weeks, so look for it in a mailbox near you! (:
lovin' Jesus,
steph

This is a picture of a little boy named Jalen from the first
week of ministry at a day camp. Enjoy!
Sunday, July 25th:
Crazy how time flies! Tomorrow is the last week of official
ministry. We are
all heading out to an overnight camp for 11 and 12 years olds.
I
am looking forward to spending extended periods of time with the
same kids so I can get to know them better. They are mostly kids
whose parents are in a Detroit Rescue Mission ministry. We will
be co-counselors alongside full time counselors. It should be a
blast!
Please pray that I would get the rest I need to
function properly. We will all need rest for sure!
Also pray
that we would be able to share Jesus with as many kids as
possible. There will be many opportunities to do so and I will
just need the right words and right timing.
Pray that the
kids would find Jesus this week either for the first time or
more intimately.
That is about it for now! I'll let you know how it goes!
Love much for Detroit,
Stephanie
